and we DANCED

Haps B to Kiera!

This post is dedicated to the do's and dont's of partying.

Do: Get ready with your friends because you can get the pre buzz and help each other with outfits and make up.

Do: Drink from a glass

Why? Sometimes it's just fun to be a little pretentious.
Anddd, classy behaviour before a night out, compensates for any mishaps during a night out.

Do: Wear leather trousers

If you want to avoid the typical dress and heels combo then edge it up and rock out in trousers. Pop some colour with a raspberry shade so you don't look deathly and intimidating. Jewellery and heels will dress the outfit up.

Don't: Try so hard that you look slutty.

We've all had those nights when you just want to dress up and impress. Sometimes without knowing, you take it too far and accidentally show too much. You look back and think "why did no one stop me".

Well, think about the colours and how much you show. If you're wearing a racy red then have a classy, conservative cut. If you're baring your midriff then combat the suggestiveness with a classy colour.

You can never look slutty in navy blue.

Do: Get a lift from a friend/acquaintance

So many people are passing their driving tests and offering to give lifts. They're much cheaper than taxi's and you can negotiate prices. Although they're young drivers, you'll be safe if you know who the person is.

Don't: Distract the driver or get in with someone who has a bad reputation with driving.

Do: Rework the LBD

Choose an embellished LBD to make a change from the traditional bodycon shift.

I really don't know why we were fixated on taking photos with the bouncer.

Do: Remember you're not in a film

Gatsby inspired clothing has spread like *insert rude thought*
Just make sure if you're not going to a Gatsby party or something fancy then tone it down. Do like Laura and stick to one item. Keep the rest simple by adding a plain black tee with the glittery bottoms. The simple necklace adds to the elegance and doesn't look too showy.

Toilet pic, classic!

Do: Be Subtle

Drawing attention to a bust is a popular go to choice in partywear. Do it in a mysterious way by finding a dress with a sheer, black, lace insert by the bust.

Do: Use logic

If you're showing your legs and bottom, cover your top. Wearing a traditional bloom print keeps the look fun and stylish.
Large prints stop the bum look too Nicki Minaj.

Don't: Wear a bow tie and a white shirt

You'll look like a waiter or a ventriloquist.

Do: I.R.O.N

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to ironing, but when you're going out then it's something that is a must. There's nothing worse than a creased white shirt. Don't ruin your smart look with a shabby surface. White shirts are a fail-safe item if you're unsure of what to wear so it's a good investment.

Do: Wear suave shoes

Girls will always, always, ALWAYS notice your shoes. It doesn't matter how amazing your outfit is, if you roll up in air force ones then don't even bother. A brogue is another fail-safe, but to keep it from looking too office-like, go for a brown or if you're daring... a deep blue OR if you're too cool for the brogue then a pair of loafers should do the trick.

Don't: Be afraid of colour

Even if it's a harmonious colour scheme then it's fine. Just don't wear identical shades. If you're wearing black jeans, team it with a denim shirt or a floral print button up if you're a trend setter. Very few boys can pull off black on black. Just try your best not to look like a shadow.

Do: Roll your sleeves

This trick is a simple and easy way to flatter your arms and appear fashion conscious. Your biceps will look bigger with the focus brought by the tight rolled short sleeve.

Asos Playsuit: £35
Newlook Wedges: £25 (super old)

I find that for parties, it's so much more difficult to keep your style with the dress codes and what not. I wanted to wear something that didn't compromise mine. I opted for a playsuit instead of a mini skirt or dress. I thought the vintage floral print stood out from the homogeneous LBD's and short dresses, but still kept to the party dress code. I do admit, if I didn't arrive in heels then I would've looked too under dressed.

Do: Bring pumps

It's a typical girl, and especially Essex girl thing to take your shoes off half way through a night. So I always bring a spare pair of pumps to combat our classy reputation.

#1 Summer Updo's: The Bun

A messy will be your saviour this summer.

This style keeps your hair from blinding you when you're sitting on a windy beach and saves you a lot of time if you want to rush out.

Also, there's no point wasting time on your hair when it'll just get wet and sandy if go swimming.

There isn't a methodological way of doing the bun, they tend to look less ballerina prim, a day after you've washed your hair though. The key is to twist then wrap, do it once and leave it for a true, off duty look.

Once it's up you can re-shape it and use pins to keep it in place if necessary. This is likely for girls with thick, heavy hair.
