* Where's Wally? *

School. Sucks. My life consists of textiles and listening to The 1975. Ebony's life is pretty much the same. Textiles, a bajillion other cool indie bands AND art.

HOLY MOLY!

Textile is seen to be a "soft" subject by the majority of society; damn the lot of them. Hard hours of grafting garments of greatness go unrecognised because small minded people only see fashion on face value. Quite ironic really. It's the pro academia people who are coincidently intelligent that quietly criticize the textile subject, when the fashion industry accounts for a high pre-portion of consumer spending therefore the growth of GDP. This field isn't just Manolos and models. On top of this, simply...everyone wear's clothes. Well actually, in today's generation we wear very little clothing. Maybe because we're dying to look are cool as Bad Gal RiRi, but really only she can pull it off, and barely (no pun intended). Anyways, everyone is following trends and they don't even know it.

Pour Example, you have 3 groups:
1. Hipsters/Trend Setters/Try Hards
Those who look down on main stream fashion.

2. Anti hipsters/Anti fashion followersThose who look down on cool kids who wear underground fashion, which becomes mainstream fashion.

3. The Try Hard Anti Try HardsThese are the guys who try soooo hard not to try hard.

So seeing as everyone's trying to be cooler than each other there's a merge of 1 group. Everyone. Everyone is expressing themselves, proving a point and rebelling, all through the medium of fashion and clothing. So why is it so looked down upon?!

I definitely recommend textiles as a subject. BUT it's a lot..a lot a lot a lotttt of time and hard work...and coursework. And stress. All which = MORE WRINKLES + LESS LUNCH

So if you're willing to put in the effort, then the results are so self rewarding. Seeing yards of yarn transform into a creation of your own makes you feel so proud and like...what?! I made that...?

Tip: Converse also make a maxi dress less dressy and girly if you didn't know what shoes to pair with it. Pumps will make it girlier if you want to add to the outfit!

Me

Striped top: George - £10
Maxi dress turned maxi skirt :New Look - £16
Hobo khaki jacket: Next - £40
Studded bad boi Rastafarian beanie: £10 (not worth it) a shop in Soho

Where's Wally stripes are a staple...invest!

Also, I love versatile pieces, this maxi dress can be worn in so many different ways so you'll really get your money's worth. I always buy  maxi dresses and layer a top over them to give it another spin.
